John Moir, Practitioner

A Healing Path Rooted in Wisdom, Experience, and Compassion

Hi, I’m John Moir, and I created Soulful Energy Medicine.

Before I began this work, I was a paramedic. I spent years showing up in moments nobody plans for—loss, crisis, trauma, and the kind of days when everything changes with one phone call. That work taught me what real grief feels like in the body, and how much people need steadiness, kindness, and calm when they’re overwhelmed.

My work today is rooted in urban shamanism. My core training came through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. I’m also trained in transpersonal hypnotherapy and past-life regression, which can be especially helpful when strong feelings, memories, or powerful inner experiences begin to surface. Depending on what you need, I may draw on a blended approach—shamanic healing, energy work, transpersonal hypnotherapy, parts work, or past-life exploration—always based on what feels most helpful for you.

I’ve been fortunate to learn from teachers who have shaped how I hold this work. And honestly, the longer I do this, the more humble I become. People carry so much. They carry what has been done to them, what they have survived, what they have lost, and what they have had to hold alone. Much of it does not show on the surface, but it lives in the body, the heart, and in the way a person lives. And when healing happens—when something begins to soften, release, or return to balance—it is hard not to feel deep respect for what someone has been carrying all along. 🌿

Podcast Conversations Exploring Healing

Don’t Feed the Fear – with John Moir and Dr. Amanda Whitehouse explores how grief weaves through everyday life—including the quiet trauma parents carry when a child has severe allergies, and the shame that can surface when things go wrong, revealing these as forms of grief too.

As I Live and Grieve – with Kathy Gleason and John Moir John and Patricia Jones of Wind Breath Soul, join Kathy for a warm, spiritually grounded conversation about Francis Weller’s Five Gates of Grief. We explored how the gates help name many kinds of loss—not only death, but lost dreams, ancestral wounds, and the grief that often goes unrecognized.
